Today we meditate on alms giving inspired by the gospel. Charity is the goal of the spiritual life. If I do not react better with people next to me, I am not far advanced in my faith. In the gospel, they were using each other to achieve goal of accusing Jesus. Our God says he is love. We are growing in our relationship with God. What can I do to grow in charity? Alms giving is a way, not to turn from people in need. To be open to help, look in the eyes of who we are helping. To practice alms giving with charity and love and also be patient with brothers and sisters. A reaction of patience is a sign of giving. When we reflect on our sins, we can be more patient. When we remember we are sinners we can be patient. We should not put a limit on being patient, as when Peter asked Jesus about forgiveness. Neither do I condemn you. God is patient and merciful. May the Lord help us to grow in charity. Amen
