Holy Thursday, tonight is the commemoration of the holy supper and also the anniversary of priesthood. The washing of feet shows Jesus pouring himself out, paroble of service according to John gospel. Jesus washes all disciples' feet. Peter asks Jesus if he will wash his feet. Peter is repulsed at getting his feet washed. Jesus washing feet is to allow disciples and everyone to join him. Peter also betrays Lord. Jesus wants us to love everyone to no end. He says to them, "Do you know what I have done for you." Jesus set example of how to live toward each other. Passion week as much as holy week. As I have done for you, you must do for others. The gospel of holy Thursday urges us to wash each other's feet starting with the weakest. Bending down before the weakest. We all need someone as we will do for others. Today is a human day. We walk the path Jesus set for us.
