I met Jane doe in college. She had bipolar disorder and she wanted to join the army. She stopped her medication to join; so, she was kicked out of her home because resulting behavior. My family took her in but she was not in her right mind. We tried to figure out how to help her. My mother took her to a homeless shelter, when her mother took her in again. The story is about sacrifice and compassion. Jesus called us when Jane called. Just as the Samaritan helped so too are we called to give to those around us. Give of what you have. Give up some of our needs to help. It could be anyone in need, all of them are messy just like us. But Jesus calls us to love. When these opportunities arrive, ask what you can do for them. Caring shows you love Jesus.
