The sabbath is a gift to free us from being slaves to work. Sunday is our sabbath, a foretaste of the eventual rest with God. Sabbath is to kindle familial needs. The Church recommends we set aside time to foster time to rest and meditate. The call to rest is a commandment, we pray we do not see it as a burden. Listen and learn from the examples of the saints, empty ourselves of selfishness so that God can fill us with grace. God wishes for all of us to be saints. What can I do to be more saintly? What do we possess that we have not received? Everything we have is a gift from God. The more grateful, the more grace God will give us. We are called to live lives of thanks giving. We pray to have increased desire to be saints.
