I want us to work together with the readings. Christ says he was here to set the world on fire, to create division. What is he saying? Separating believers from non believers? What do you think? What are you taking from here? If you are just here to tick the box to be at church, just go. When you hear the gospel, what do you hear? Being in a group, we become complacent? Going with the flow is easy, questioning is not. Are people in your family against some of your beliefs? For me yes, and I have many non religious friends. I was that kid that wanted to fit in. So, I would do what was cool. I would shut things down to be cool. Christ is saying if you follow me people will be against you. I know that life. Nobody wants to be told the truth. We want validation. The word of God challenges us. Jesus loves us but challenges us to be better. No one wants to be told the truth. The easier way is to back off, but christ wants us to stand up. Jeremiah was to be killed because he told the truth. We are not alone. Facing objection is not easy, but God gives us strength. The reality is what our conscious tells. Let us stand tall for God needs us is our prayer today. Like I said I get feedback, "Let him just say nice things." But God challenges you. I hope you are challenged. Leave church a different person. If you want to be changed, give God the chance to help you. Be the people that make a difference. You are Christ, you carry Christ with you. Communion is becoming one with Christ. People will have objections, let us pray to understand that God wants to collaborate with us. I hang out with everyone but do not compromise my faith. I remind myself that I have a God. Bring in God, ask God for help. Tell God you want to be as God. Let us put it in practice.
