I welcome you to this mass. But this time is a special time. We see how christ lives his day to day life. Christ challenges his followers. You cannot serve two masters at the same time. How the spirit inspires me is incredible. Approach God with an open heart. A different homily is in a different church, a mystery. God is mystery, which we cannot know everything about. God gives godself to us. Do you just recycle your homilies? No, I always get a new message. We see the steward that was lucky to turn things around, which is a privilege. You are planning for a reality, which is what we should do for faith. I met with families in Australia. From that experience, I take to my own family that I tell my parents to plan your funeral. As we grieve, the little details are handled. The steward turned things around, not everyone has a chance. I had a friend that had the same chance before death. Another friend was dying and she told me she was ready to go because she had prepared. Would I be ready if God called me today? We are not just here to exist. God has put me here for a reason. I will connect to other people. We are sent out in the world after baptism to make a difference. So, on judgement day we will be asked what we did with God's gifts. Being saved is not just what we do but what we failed to do. When I failed to use my gifts and talents I have sinned. I work in the mental health field, and many problems are because we ignore people. When we ignore people, we fail. Loneliness is the greatest killer. We should start thinking of the end. Think of what you ignore. Not everyone is as privileged as us. We need to keep our eyes open to help. Am I the face of God to them? We are called to be the face of God. Coming here I hope you leave making the world a better place. I do not know how to help you might say. Is your initial reaction selfish? You have to think outside the box. Think with love. People cannot help their situation. If I was in their situation, what would I want done for me? Ask yourself how I may help as a face of christ. Think of doing things, let us pray to remind ourselves that when we meet our loving savior, we will be ready from helping with our gifts.
