How is Lent going for you so far? Are you intentional so that Easter has meaning? Lent is a time of retreat, come back and see what you are doing. Make room for God to let God shine light in our lives to see how we can be better people. We need God to see how to act. I often hear I do not sin; now that tells me to stop and look. Stop the autopilot. I study full time and I do ministry, busy but still stop and reflect how we are doing. Three lental obervances are prayer, alms giving and fasting. We need God all the time. Think about relationships you have, do you only talk to them when you need something. Have a healthy relationship to listen to God, we are encouraged to pray more in Lent. Why fast? Fasting is about sacrificing. I remember growing up and being happy for having great fish, but we need to sacrifice. When something is the focus it may be bad so that we may need to reflect. Let God let us look at ourselves. Sacrifice properly, if you are over 65 no need to fast if dangerous for your health. Temptations lead us to sin. The devil thrives where he sees a gap in our lives. If your faith is not strong, the devil will tempt you. We need God for help, to reaffirm our faith. Temptations always exist. If your needs are overwhelming, the devil will use it to tempt you. If you just care about yourself, the devil will use the advantage. Our faith is about connecting to God. We are about leading, faith is not about the individual. Our prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen
