What does Easter mean for you as a Christian? What does it do for your life? Easter is the apex of our lives. Christ came because the people were not listening to prophets. God always looks for ways to help us. The gospel shows how God helps his people to show I am there with you. The prophets struggled, for example Jeremiah was young, he knew no one would listen. Thus, Jesus leaves out old testament teachings but adds the crucifixion. The pascal mystery is one event over three days. The mass on Holy Thursday concludes on Easter vigil. Three days highlight what God wants us to do. Jesus gives examples of what he wants to have memory of him. We get together, we support each other, we pray together, shown in the last supper. We all need someone to get through life, even introverts. We come to church like we have a supper together, we support each other. Christ wants us to support each other, should happen at church and at every home. Ask for support to avoid depression. The washing of the feet shows to support one another, step out of your comfort zone. We use the word love too easily. Christ exemplified love, what good Friday is about. Good Friday asks what is truth. Media sells truth, but before you stand by anything ask yourself if it is truth. Agreement of the mind to reality is truth. We are pressured to compromise the truth. Christ was helping people, but it did not sit well with people in authority that dragged him down. Truth cannot destroyed. God wants you to be yourself. They crucified truth. But you can never bury the truth. The resurrection reminds us that God rolls away the stone for us. The pascal candle shows us the light of Christ, who is there to help us is what Easter is about. Christ wants to work with us to make us support each other. What does Easter mean for us? Do not be afraid to stand by the truth. Let us pray for the grace to help God make the world a better place.
