I have been here for four years and have done many funerals. I have never seen an uhaul follow the hearse. We do not take possessions with us. Ecclesiastes tells us how to behave. The scripture asks why act well if we do not know what happens after death. Revelations did not show what happens. Jesus told us, but we are still challenged by faith. We will be judged based on what we have done here. We are predestined for heaven, but hell is possible. I can store up things here or in heaven. St. Francis of Assisi gave up everything and became a beggar. How do I store things in heaven? Do good things. One's life does not exist of possessions. If you get more you should have more responsibilities, should share more. Give alms, give to the needy. A social commitment exists, when you do it your soul is rich. This richness lasts forever. When we do it, we free ourselves of the slavery of possessions. May the Lord grant us grace to be free of possessions to be rich before him. Amen
