We celebrate an unique feast of the Lateran basilica built by Emperor Constantine. The cathedral that is the chair of the bishop is housed in the basilica. St Peter's cathedral is known but the pope's cathedral is in the Lateran basilica, a symbol that all Christians are in the world. A feast as today tells us we are in the world for a reason, not separation of church and state. The church is a reminder that the people of God are there. What does seeing a catholic church do for you? Turn to the person next to you and tell the person. I need two people to tell me. It is significant to represent something bigger than the church. There are people that share the same faith as me. Here in this part of the world, I am hoping we see the churches as telling us that Christ is here. If someone sees the church, they need to see Christ through us. The temple in the first reading tells us we need the symbols of Christ. Ask yourself, if Christ appeared would he be proud that his people are the temples of the holy spirit. Let Christ work through us. He said in the third reading gospel that I need you to share Christ. I hope I can help Christ be a better place. Never underestimate what the power of God can do through you. A church shows what we are to be. We come here to encounter Christ, which we should do out there. Let us pray that the good lord gives us the strength to share Christ outside church, being temples of the holy spirit to be the best Christians possible.
