The prophets' books tell when God called. Isiah was called in the reading. Isiah encountered God face to face. Paul met God in the second reading. In the gospel, St. Peter met christ. Why do we whenever we see god step back? When you are driving you see dirt on your glass; once the light shines on you you see better. Sometimes we step away to avoid challenge and change. People are stuck in their ways, want to be left alone limiting ourselves who God wants us to be. When we are scared of change, what are we missing? Christ challenges us to dig further so that we will encounter beyond us. I was ordained in Ipswich, Australia. Are you telling me God has no message for you? I would ask when people would not understand the priests' accents. Dig deep, the priests worked hard digging deep to give sermons. We do not like change. The message today is to dig deep in the deep water. Ask ourselves, what kind of christens are we? God chose Paul to bring thekingdom to this world. Paul accepted god; let us pray we open ourselves to find God to live with meaning and purpose.
