Yesterday we had the mass of the Lord supper. Jesus became the new Passover. When the Jews arrived on their land, they had to remember what they went through. Jesus is the sacrificial lamb, his blood is the offering. We celebrate today Jesus' sacrifice. Today we stand at the foot at the cross. Jesus says, "Woman behold your son." Even in affliction Jesus' word is love. He does not leave his mother alone. Mary becomes our mother, mother of the church. St. John tells us Mary is the new Eve. To John, "Behold your mother." We are invited to accept Mary as our mother. Also, it is a word of hope at the foot of the cross. Mary believed love would have the final say. Let us look at the cross, Jesus and Mary and not forget we were not abandoned and have Mary as our mother. Amen
